Flexible stone can wrap around radii as tight as a few inches. Architects can now clad a fluid, Frank Gehry-esque facade or a cylindrical elevator core in genuine natural stone without the weight or engineering nightmare of quarried blocks.
The Metric: Traditional stone cladding typically weighs 15 to 20 pounds per square foot. Flexible stone systems (usually 3mm to 6mm thick adhered to a backing) weigh roughly 2 to 4 pounds per square foot.
While traditional quarrying generates waste and demands heavy structural support, our flexible stone system is engineered for responsibility:
